PS5 Spider-Man 2 Bundle Drops to Just $450 at Best Buy [IGN]

PS5’s latest slim model bundle with Spider-Man 2 is now down to just $449.99 at Best Buy (see here), a $50 reduction compared to its original MSRP of $499.99. Best Buy has advertised the discount as a ‘Price Drop’—which, when compared to other discounted listings on the retailer’s website, could feed speculation of an indefinite cut in price for the Spidey 2 bundle. IGN has reached out to Best Buy for clarity on the bundle’s list price going forward.

This $50 reduction also undersells the bundle savings, as when comparing this new price drop versus buying the PS5 and Spider-Man 2 separately (i.e. $69.99 + $499.99 = $569.98), the buyer’s savings are now significantly more than a first glance at the Best Buy page. It’s a good deal, and well worth considering alongside all the other top PlayStation offers right now.

In other PlayStation news, analysts have told CNBC that the PS5 Pro is ‘likely’ out later in 2024, with the refreshed console expected to renew interest in the current generation, while also launching ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025.

Sony has also recently revealed the PlayStation Plus games for March 2024; four games will be available to active PlayStation Plus members starting March 5 through April 1. As detailed in a new PlayStation Blog post, the following four games will be available: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen; Sifu; Hello Neighbor 2; and EA Sports F1 23.

Elsewhere, Sony has also indicated that it will not release any major existing PlayStation franchise games before April 2025, ruling out big sequels in the God of War and Spider-Man franchises any time soon. For PS5 deals in the US, consider visting our dedicated round-up instead.

The tech giant has also recently announced a significant round of layoffs affecting around 900 staff, or about 8% of its global PlayStation workforce. The layoffs affect a number of PlayStation studios, including Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla, Firesprite, and, most significantly, PlayStation’s London studio.
