Things don’t get any easier for beleaguered Manchester United as they look to bounce back from their UEFA Champions League elimination against English Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield. 

Currently floundering in midtable in the EPL, United were dumped out of European competition in midweek after slumping to a limp 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford, a result that came off the back of a demoralizing 3-0 loss at home to Bournemouth last weekend. 

Liverpool have won four of the past five league meetings between these two great rivals, and have scored at least four goals in each of those wins.

The hosts had the luxury of naming a largely full-strength side for this big game after resting the majority of their starting lineup against Union SG in their Europa League fixture on Thursday, while United will be without captain Bruno Fernandes, who is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards, as well as defender Harry Maguire, who is ruled out after picking up an injury against Bayern.
