Naughty Dog has revealed the three Lost Levels coming in The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered and fans are already spooked.

The names of each Lost Level — which were cut from the original game but are being included as bonus content for the PlayStation 5 upgrade — were revealed on the PlayStation Store, the same place that leaked the remaster’s existence.

The first level is called Jackson Dance, the next Boar Hunt, and the final level, which has The Last of Us fans particularly nervous, is called Sewers. This will likely put players back into an underground level experienced by Ellie as she makes her way towards the hospital, and while we won’t spoil it here, those who’ve played it will remember what lurks in the depths.

IGN’s Twenty Questions – Guess the game!

Welcome to 20 questions. Can you guess the game?

“Really not look forward to fighting cordyceps Pennywise,” said GoldyX90 on Reddit. Putting this right after the first stalker encounter and right before the first Scar encounter is so f**ked up,” added Terrible-Art. Dr_PuddingPop, on the other hand, hoped for an original The Last of Us reference: “I hope we get to swim with some pallets, for old time’s sake,” they said.

As for Jackson Dance and Boar Hunt, which already sound less stressful in comparison, fans had already worked out they were coming based on the trailer released by Naughty Dog. Reddit user GloomynGone proposed one level will “be Ellie walking through the town before dancing with Dina”, while another would “be the boar hunting scene discussed in her journal, where she corners a wounded boar in the general store.”

There wasn’t enough in the trailer to indicate the Sewers level would be coming too, but GloomynGone seemingly hit the nail on the head with their first two guesses.

The Lost Levels won’t contribute to an extended version of The Last of Us Part 2 but will likely instead be included as bonus content accessible through the main menu. Players can then “explore early development versions” of the levels with developer commentary.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also includes a roguelike mode called No Return, guitar free play, graphical enhancements, DualSense integration, and more, and launches January 19. Players who own the original game on PlayStation 5 can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10, and save files can be imported.

In our 10/10 review of the original, IGN said: “The Last of Us Part 2 is a masterpiece that evolves the gameplay, cinematic storytelling, and rich world design of the original in nearly every way.”
