Princess Leia’s iconic bikini from Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi is currently up for auction at a price of $30,000 and counting.

As reported by Variety, the costume is listed on Heritage Auctions as one of several Star Wars lots, and has already reached the $30,000 figure with 15 days left as of July 11, 2024.

The beloved Carrie Fischer wore the bikini while her character was imprisoned by Jabba the Hutt, and Leia later killed the giant alien slug while wearing it.

“As Heritage has done time and again, we’re bringing together some of the most important cultural artifacts that have never before been in single place,” said Heritage Auctions executive vice president Joe Maddalena.

“When you do that, you immediately, instinctively recognize the importance and influence of these science-fiction films and television shows — how they’ve shaped how we look at and think about the world and beyond.”

Leia’s bikini still has a ways to go before it outsells some other Star Wars memorabilia though, as the head of C-3PO, used in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode 4 – A New Hope, sold for more than $800,000 at auction in November 2023.

Star Wars items regularly attracts a lot of attention (and dollars) at auction, with a lost X-Wing from A New Hope selling for a record-setting $3.135 million in October 2023.
