Star Wars legend Mark Hamill decided to test how strong the Force was with his Twitter stardom Sunday after a fan suggested he could get thousands of likes just by tweeting his own name. The actor, who’s best known for playing Luke Skywalker, exceeded expectations by getting more than half a million likes and over 30,000 retweets as of early Monday.

Hamill has 4.7 million followers on the social media platform, and a bunch of them are apparently happy to support his experiments.

The actor played the Jedi Master in two Star Wars movie trilogies, but was most recently seen in the season 2 finale of Disney Plus spinoff show The Mandalorian. Hamill was digitally de-aged for his appearance in that episode, and a documentary looking at that process hit Disney’s streaming service last month.

Hamill wasn’t the only one trying to capitalize on his popularity — George Takei, who played Sulu in Star Trek, quote-tweeted Hamill’s post and wrote: “Mark Hamill. And now we wait.”

Takei’s tweet had more than 38,000 likes and 1,300 retweets as of Monday morning.
