‘Lightyear’ Trailer Hints At Time-Displaced Pixar Adventure – CNET [CNET]
We got a fresh trailer for Pixar’s Lightyear on Thursday, and it suggests the CGI animated movie will put Buzz out of time as a result of an experimental hyperspace journey. This origin story for the character who inspired the Toy Story action figure is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17.
Our hero (played by former Captain America Chris Evans) and robot companion cat Sox (Peter Sohn) will apparently get marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth, and have to try to find their way home through space and time.
He’s joined by Junior Zap Patrol’s Izzy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Darby Steel, voiced by Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi and Dale Soules respectively. Their mission is threatened by the villainous Zurg (James Brolin) and his army of robots.
