During today’s Xbox-Bethesda Showcase, Microsoft announced that everything shown would be playable in the next 12 months. There was some question whether that would include the Hollow Knight: Silksong, but now Xbox has seemingly confirmed that the long-awaited follow-up will indeed be out within a year.

The confirmation came via a tweet from the official Xbox Twitter account reading, “Everything you’re seeing today is playable over the next 12 months.”

When a fan replied asking whether that included Silksong, Xbox confirmed that it did.

That’s exactly what we said.

Xbox head of global gaming Sarah Bond also confirmed that Silksong would be available within the year.

The confusion stemmed from a graphic listing every game coming to Xbox and PC over the next 12 months, which appeared to omit Silksong. However, it does appear that it will finally be released sometime between now and June 2023 after a lengthy wait.

IGN has reached out to Team Cherry for confirmation and will update this story with any comment.

While the release date remains murky, Silksong did receive a new trailer earlier today along with confirmation that it would be available day one on Xbox Game Pass..

Silksong has been hotly-anticipated since being announced back in 2019. It will follow the adventures of Hornet, and will feature a quest system and a new difficulty mode featuring permadeath. It was shown during the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase, which also included extended looks at Starfield, Persona on Xbox Game Pass, and much more.
