Photo Mode has arrived in Santa Monica Studio’s God of War: Ragnarok, bringing a vast suite of tools and options with which to document Kratos’s adventure through the Nine Realms.

Revealed in a PlayStation Blog post, players who download Ragnarok‘s latest update will be able to access the Photo Mode by hitting the pause button and pressing square.

Santa Monica has included several options that allow players to tweak settings such as vibrance, exposure, and saturation of a shot, along with more in depth options to alter qualities such as the focal length, colour filtering, and F-stop of a composition.

The feature will also let you roll the camera and shift it 90 degrees to get a vertical aspect ratio, and to apply film grains, vignettes, borders, and logos by way of a finishing touch.

As was the case with God of War (2018), players will also be able to alter the facial expressions of major characters including Kratos, Atreus, Thor, and the dwarves Brok and Sindri. The virtual landscape photographers out there will also have the ability to remove characters from a scene entirely.

Ragnarok’s Photo Mode dropped weeks after the game’s initial release, and the timing couldn’t be better. Kratos was recently crowned the best character in the entire PlayStation pantheon in IGN’s fan voted face-off competition, narrowly beating out Uncharted’s Nathan Drake for that most Platinum of Platinum Trophies.

In our review of God of War Ragnarok, IGN said: “An enthralling spectacle to behold and an even more exciting one to take the reins of”, that “makes many of its peers look positively mortal by comparison”.
