From tracking steps to checking messages, smartwatches can be handy gadgets to stay connected without pulling out your phone. But they aren’t the cheapest tech to buy, especially if you’re considering one for a kid. Luckily, though, there’s the Fitbit Ace LTE which is currently on sale for $200 at Amazon right now. Regularly priced at $230, this is a record low for this smartwatch that can keep your child connected to you without needing a separate phone for them. In an effort to match Amazon’s pricing, we’re also seeing the Fitbit Ace LTE down to $200 at Best Buy as well.

The Fitbit Ace LTE is equipped with 4G for connectivity on the go, and it’s designed to be set up as a standalone device without the need to be paired to a phone — ideal for parents who want to be able to communicate with or track younger kids who aren’t ready for a mobile phone of their own. It does require a subscription to enable the call and text service via the Fitbit Ace app, as well as location tracking and on-device games. The watch features innovative features, such as games that encourage kids to move and watch bands that unlock different features.

The watch is designed to make movement more sustainable for kids. According to CNET’s Lisa Eadicicco, “With the Fitbit Ace LTE, Google is trying to strike a balance of encouraging kids to move without pushing them to overexercise. Activity rewards hit a limit each day to prevent kids from exercising too much just to unlock new content.” With a battery life of up to 16 hours, kids can enjoy their games and stay in touch with family during school and other activities. Other features like Tap to Pay via supported kids’ debit cards are also super useful for kids on the go.
