In addition to the newly revised 5E rulebooks, you can preorder a new Dungeon Master’s screen and new Character Sheets.

So what’s new in these revised rulebooks? For starters, the Player’s Handbook will actually teach new players how to play D&D. In addition to offering up a list of the rules, as the previous edition did, it has a new section with advice about how to organize and run a game session. Also, all 12 character classes now have four subclasses each, bringing a grand total of 48 subclasses. There’s also a bigger focus on non-combat abilities for the characters.

Similar tweaks, additions, and assistance for new players are coming to the Dungeon Master’s Guide and Monster Manual. For a more detailed look, check out our early look at the D&D rulebook changes.
