IGN can exclusively reveal five Flesh and Blood trading cards arriving in the Bright Lights set including the four Evo Steel Soul pieces and Singularity, which evolves new hero Teklovossen, Esteemed Magnate into a souped-up Demi-Hero.

The four Evo Steel Set cards will also be available in highly coveted Marvel versions, special full art cards with unique foiling, alongside Singularity. All five cards can be viewed in the slideshow below.

Developer Legend Story Studios’ senior game designer Bryan Gottlieb confirmed to IGN that Teklovossen will be the Evo equipment focused hero of Bright Lights. “Having the ability to play Evo equipment from the banished zone means that not only is Teklovossen benefitting from the inherent power of Evo equipment, he’s also doing so at card advantage,” Gottlieb said.

“Furthermore, Mechanologists thrive off the bonuses granted to them by banishing cards. Boost is already powerful as a means to gain action points, and that’s before you’re able to potentially play the cards after they are banished. Add in the brand-new Scrap mechanic, and you can start to see the whole picture of what Teklovossen is capable of.”

Teklovossen will bring something completely new to Flesh and Blood thanks to 24 unique Evo pieces that can be mixed and matched, Gottlieb said. “Not only do I think Teklovossen can be played at any point along the traditional aggressive/control spectrum, he’s offering some hybrid options which don’t really have any other analogues in Flesh and Blood.

“Some Evo sets will be so powerful that you will want to build entire archetypes around them, some will have niche applications, and some will just be the defensive glue that holds an archetype together,” he added.

The Demi-Hero version of Teklovossen, which will only appear in Bright Lights’ Expansion Slot, won’t be an essentially must-have piece unlike the first Demi-Hero Levia, Redeemed, Gottlieb said. “It’s always up to our players how cards will ultimately be used, but I saw many powerful Teklovossen decks in development that had no interest in playing Singularity.”

As for Bright Lights as a whole, the influx of Mechanologist cards will see that class become the one to watch in the meta, according to Gottlieb. “Beyond that influx of cards, with a whopping four Mechanologists legal in the Classic Constructed format, the class will also have the largest CC-legal hero pool in the game.

“However, the newly introduced expansion slot is not without its share of impressive cards for other classes. I’ve got my eye on the Draconic duo of Dromai and Fai as other huge winners after Bright Lights, and the Assassin pickups in this set are nothing to scoff at either.”

Bright Lights was announced in July as an (almost) all-Mechanologist set launching October 6 with three new heroes including the character evolution of fan-favourite Dash. IGN revealed an exclusive trailer for the set alongside details on a new format and more.
