Foldable phones are all the rage right now, and during the Made by Google event it was announced that Google’s incredible Pixel Fold is getting a revamp in the newly upgraded Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The book-style foldable’s predecessor found itself a well-deserved place on our list of favorite foldable phones, and the new iteration has a lot of enticing upgrades for any Android fan, especially those who are integrated into the Google ecosystem.

Google’s original foldable came equipped with a 5.8-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal panel and was powered by the company’s in-house Tensor G2 chip. The new Pixel 9 Pro Fold sports a larger 6.3-inch cover display and a whopping 8-inch internal display, each with OLED displays that have a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The upgraded 2024 foldable also increases the RAM to 16GB, while maintaining the 256GB or 512GB storage options. It also comes equipped with the new Tensor G4 chip and Android 14 OS.

How much does the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold cost?

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold retails at the same $1,799 starting price as the 2023 Pixel Fold. While that’s costly, we’ve hunted down preorder deals from retailers and carriers alike to help you get the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold for less.

We’ve updated this page with the best deals currently available so budget-conscious buyers can score it at the best price. Like the original Pixel Fold, the brand new Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes in just two colors: white and black. 

Best unlocked Pixel 9 Pro Fold preorder deals

Right now you’ll get $350 in Google Store credit when you buy Pixel 9 Pro Fold directly from Google. You will need a Google Pay profile in order to receive the credit. And if you don’t mind parting with your current phone, you can also receive up to $760 in trade-in credit for eligible devices.

Another perk you’ll get when you preorder your Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a year of Gemini Advanced for free, a value of $240. You’ll also get a year of Google One AI Premium, six months of Fitbit Premium and three months of YouTube Premium.

Those who join Google Fi Wireless can get an extra $500 back on your new Pixel phone, which will be delivered via 24 monthly bill credits. 

While there are no direct discounts on the updated Fold, right now when you preorder your Pixel 9 Pro Fold from Best Buy the retailer will throw in a $350 gift card to be used on a future purchase. You’ll also get three months of Google One 100GB storage if you’re a new subscriber. 

And if you’re willing to part with an older device, you can get up to $750 in trade-in savings through Best Buy’s own trade-in program, though most phones will bring in significantly less than that, so be sure to check your particular model to get a better idea of how much credit you can expect. 

Not to be outdone by Best Buy, Amazon is offering a similar deal. While there is no big discount on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold itself, you can preorder the phone for the Aug. 22 release at the $1,799 price and you’ll get a $350 gift card from Amazon. You can get this deal on either porcelain or obsidian. The purchase also includes a 90-day free trial of Amazon Music. 

Right now, Target has a teaser on its site saying that you’ll be able to buy the unlocked Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold starting Sept. 4. We’ll keep an eye on this page to see if there will be any direct discounts or other incentives.

Best carrier Pixel 9 Pro Fold preorder deals

If your heart is set on the newest Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Verizon has options. When you add a new line on the Unlimited Ultimate plan through Verizon and preorder the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, you’ll get a $900 promotional credit, dolled out in the form of bill credits over 36 months. That brings the price down to just $899. 

Existing Verizon customers can save if they have a device to trade in. You’ll still need to add a new line, but you can get up to $800 in promo credit depending on what your device is worth. 

Verizon is currently only carrying the black (obsidian) 256GB variant and the expected arrival date of your phone will be by Sep. 4th. 

T-Mobile is currently offering up to $1,000 off with a new line on the Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plans. Or, you can get up to $1,000 off with a trade if you’re enrolled on those same plans. But if those plans don’t work for you, there is also a $600 off offer with a new line on other qualifying rate plans like Go5G, Magenta and ONE. And finally, you can get up to $500 off via trade-in credit when you trade-in an eligible device and are enrolled in one of those qualifying plans.

You can preorder your Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold from Xfinity right now. Just add a new line and trade-in a qualifying device to save up to $800. And current customers can also take advantage of this same savings when you upgrade your current device via trade-in. You’ll receive the savings via 24 monthly credits.

Additionally, existing Xfinity Internet customers may qualify for Buy One, Get One line of Unlimited on Xfinity for 12 months.

Right now, Visible has a teaser on its site saying that you will soon be able to save $240 on your new Google phone. Simply grab the Pixel 9 Pro Fold once stock arrives and then use promo code GOOGLE at checkout to score the discount. Both new and existing members will be able to take advantage of this deal.

Best Pixel Fold deals

While there are no direct discounts available on the original Pixel Fold at Google right now, you can save up to $450 with an eligible trade-in. The iPhone 15 lineup brings you the biggest discount, but Google also accepts phones from Samsung, LG, Motorola and others.

Amazon does not have any direct discounts on the Pixel Fold right now, but you can get a free 90-day trial of Amazon Music Unlimited with your purchase if you’re new to the service. 

AT&T is currently offering up to $1,040 in savings when you buy a Pixel Fold with an eligible trade in of a Pixel phone. You can trade in any Pixel from any year and in any condition to take advantage of this deal, but you must be on or upgrade to an eligible unlimited plan to qualify. You’ll receive the savings via 36 monthly credits.

And right now if you bundle Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with your purchase of an eligible connected device you can score a $100 discount. 

While there aren’t any direct discounts on unlocked models, you can score a $100 discount if you opt to activate through a carrier deal from AT&T or Verizon.

Additionally, Best Buy offers its own trade-in program, where you can save by trading in your old phone from Apple, Google, Samsung and other brands. Although the absolute latest models can score you plenty, you’re more likely to get between $300 to $400, depending on the age, condition and brand of your phone. You’ll also get three months of Google One thrown in, too.
