Apple Arcade: Every Game and Update Coming in September – CNET [CNET]

Here’s what on Apple Arcade’s line up for September.

Apple Arcade — a CNET Editors’ Choice Award pick in 2021 — has more than 200 games in its catalog to play for just $5 a month, or $60 annually. The service offers original and exclusive titles, as well as familiar games in the service’s App Store Favorites and Timeless Classics sections. These games are available in the App Store already, but with an Apple Arcade subscription you can play them without ads and paywalls for no extra charge. 

Here’s what we’re expecting for September’s lineup:

Hanx101 Trivia

Developer: BlueLine Studios

Release date: Sept. 2

As a fan of trivia, award-winning actor Tom Hanks partnered with BlueLine Studios to create a new game to test your knowledge. Hanx101 Trivia covers topics like history, math, geography, food and more. You can play solo or play teams in multiplayer.

Horizon Chase 2

Developer: Aquiris Game Studio

Release date: Sept. 9

Horizon Chase 2 is the latest title in the racing game franchise. Horizon Chase 2 features classic ’90s arcade gameplay, original and exclusive car designs, and ton of customizations. Dive into a solo race or online multiplayer on tracks around the world.

Garden Tails: Match and Grow

Developer: PlayDots

Release date: Sept. 16

Garden Tails is a relaxing matching puzzle game akin to the Simon’s Cat games. The more puzzles you solve, the more plants, animals and story you’ll unlock. 

Shovel Knight Dig

Developer: Yacht Club Games

Release date: Sept. 23

Shovel Knight Dig is a new 2D side-scrolling adventure game. Shovel Knight’s campsite is under attack by the wicked Drill Knight. Fight back, meet new friends, explore multiple environments and more on your journey to keep the land from collapsing beneath you.

Gris

Developer: Devolver Digital

Release date: Sept. 30

Gris is a stunning game about a young girl processing grief. The game uses puzzles, platforming sequences and challenges as you move from level to level. Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of this game is that the girl’s feelings are manifested through her dress, which gives her special abilities. You also can’t die in the game, which takes some of the stress out of playing. Gris is already available in the App Store for $5, but Arcade subscribers will be able to play for no extra charge.
