Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — a CNET Editors’ Choice award pick — offers hundreds of games you can play on your Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One and PC or mobile device for $20 a month. A subscription gets you access to a large library of games with new titles added every month — like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 — plus other benefits, like online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles.

Microsoft gave subscribers an early look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in August, and the company is adding these games to the service in September

Age of Mythology: Retold

Available: Sept. 4

Gods, monsters and humans collide in this real-time strategy game from the award-winning creators of the Age of Empires franchise. Choose gods from the Atlantean, Egyptian, Greek and Norse pantheons to bring your enemies down, and if that doesn’t work, then unleash centaurs, mummies, trolls and other creatures. You can also pre-install the game now so it’s ready to play tomorrow.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game

Available: Sept. 5

Venture into arid deserts, rugged forests and other treacherous terrain in this new off-roading adventure game. You lead research missions as you drive through the vast wilderness with a fleet of all-terrain vehicles. Use high-tech tools to uncover treasure and forgotten ruins as well as to overcome and adapt to unique challenges — like driving up a cliff wall instead of taking five minutes to take the path around the cliff.

Rider’s Republic

Available: Sept. 11

This massive multiplayer sports playground is yours to explore with mountain bikes, skis, snowboards and wingsuits. You can race against up to 64 other players in multiplayer, master an event in campaign mode or just free roam around the map performing massive tricks and flying through the air.

Train Sim World 5

Available: Sept. 17

Take to the rails in the latest installment in this train simulator franchise. Take on new challenges as you learn to master the tracks of iconic cities like London and Los Angeles. You can also take a break from driving the train with the new conductor mode. This gameplay mode puts you in the role of guard/conductor and has you checking passenger tickets, operating the doors and making sure passengers stay safe on their trip.

Games leaving Game Pass soon

While Microsoft is adding those four games to Game Pass, it’s also removing six others on Sept. 15. You still have some time to finish your campaign or any side quests before you’ll have to purchase these games separately.
