The movie follows a crew of criminals on a heist that, if successfully completed, will grant them $50 million. All they must do is stay the night in an isolated mansion and guard a 12-year-old ballerina. The team soon realizes they are dealing with an extraordinary child; Abigail is a vampire, and these kidnappers are her food.
Abigail’s talented cast includes Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, Alisha Weird and Giancarlo Esposito. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the celebrated filmmakers better known as Radio Silence who brought Ready or Not, Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023) to the big screen, are the directors behind the film.
Alisha Weir stars as the titular vampire ballerina in Abigail, which streams on Peacock beginning July 19.

It is not a direct remake or sequel, but considering this is a Universal release, it’s impossible not to see the similarities between Abigail and the horror classic, which was a direct sequel to 1931’s Dracula.

Peacock is raising prices. The ad-supported Peacock Premium tier will cost $8 a month, instead of the previous $6 rate. The mostly ad-free Premium Plus plan will cost $14 a month, which is also a $2 increase. Annual plans are going to get more expensive, as well. The higher prices kicked in for new subscribers on July 18 and will increase for existing subscribers beginning on Aug. 17.
