best protein shaker list and loved it because it can be used both for protein shakes and as a water bottle. This time I tried it just as a water bottle, and it still held up and remained the best insulated bottle on the list. The 26-ounce bottle is made with kitchen-grade stainless steel and has a double-wall vacuum-insulated design. It comes with a flip-up straw, which makes it easy to sip water throughout the day. The Ice Shaker also has a handle that makes it easy to transport while you’re on the go. My only gripe is that it would be nice to have different sizes available — the only other size is a 20-ounce bottle in a skinny shaker that doesn’t have the same nozzle as the sports bottle.

This bottle claims to remain cold for 30 hours. I tested this out and found it also fell short, similar to the S’well bottle. I did find it kept water the coldest of all the bottles I tested, so that’s still a win. One of my friends owns an Ice Shaker bottle and says it’s their favorite bottle because they can leave it in the car for hours and still come back to ice-cold water. It’s also sweatproof, so you don’t have to worry about condensation appearing at any point.

You can use it for all sorts of beverages, including iced tea, wine, sports drinks and more. The bottle is designed so it doesn’t retain odors after washing, which makes it versatile and ideal to hold different types of drinks. If you want a bottle that can do it all while keeping your water or drink fresh and crisp at each sip, you’ll enjoy the Ice Shaker.

Pros:

  • Keeps water ice-cold
  • Can be used for beverages other than water
  • Versatile enough for the gym, office or outdoors

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Doesn’t have different size options

I’d previously tested the Ice Shaker for a best protein shaker list and loved it because it can be used both for protein shakes and as a water bottle. • Can be used for beverages other than water
  • Versatile enough for the gym, office or outdoors

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Doesn’t have different size options

Contigo Wells Chill Stainless Steel Filter Water Bottle: Iliked the design of this bottle, from its size to the autospout straw, and even the filter. My issue with this bottle is that the filter length was too short for the size of the bottle so there always seemed to be water left that you couldn’t drink once it got below a certain point.

Nathan QuickSqueeze 12 oz. Insulated Handheld Bottle: I found this handheld bottle to be heavier than I would like during a run. If the weight doesn’t bother you, it’s still a solid handheld choice and has a zipper pocket to store your gels, keys or credit cards.

Camelbak Eddy Plus: Although the Camelbak Eddy Plus had a spout that I liked, I found the bottle to be on the heavier side. It lacked insulation and only parts of it are dishwasher safe. It came in a close second to the Nalgene Narrow Mouth Tritan Water Bottle, which also lacked insulation, but the latter was slightly cheaper and fully dishwasher safe.

Yeti Rambler: This limited-edition Yeti water bottle feels durable but is on the heavier side if you’re taking it on a hike or to the gym. This one would be better if you’re going camping, fishing or tailgating and need a bottle to be able to withstand a fall or keep drinks cool. It didn’t make the list because compared to other insulated bottles, I found it fell short in keeping water cold and lacked versatility.

Yeti Yonder 1-liter / 34 oz. Water Bottle: I thought this was a rather overpriced water bottle that doesn’t have any special features and lacks insulation. There are more affordable options that have comparable features to this bottle.

Hydro Flask 32 oz. Wide Mouth w/ Straw Lid: This bottle is heavy and can be obtrusive, but it is well insulated. It’s still a good option if you don’t mind its size. If you want a more lightweight and affordable bottle that keeps your water cold, you’re better off with one of the other bottles on the list.

Material: We made sure these bottles were BPA-free and made of a durable material depending on their purpose. Stainless steel, aluminum, glass and Tritan plastics are best for water bottles as they’re guaranteed to last forever. Also, you should look for BPA-free bottles because research has shown that BPA may have adverse health effects — especially for children and infants — so it’s advised to limit your exposure to it.

Design: We looked at the design of the bottle and determined whether it’s appropriate for work, home, outdoor activities or the gym. For example, size, weight, spout design and handle type can affect a water bottle’s usability.

Insulation: When appropriate, we considered the type of insulation the bottle has and how long it keeps water cold.

Features: We noted any unique features including a distinct spout, design or function.

  • Decide if you want a water bottle that’s versatile for most activities or for specific settings. You may want a different type of bottle for the gym versus one for your workplace.
  • Water bottles vary in price and size, so you should consider how much you’re willing to spend and the size that’s most appropriate for your needs. Some may be pricey because they’re designed to last a long time.
  • Decide if you want an insulated water bottle and if you care if it’s BPA- or BPS-free. Most bottles are designed to be eco-friendly and have some form of insulation.
  • Determine if you’d like a flip straw, flip cap or a similar style of lid, or if you don’t mind unscrewing a cap each time you want to drink.
