Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4 and Xbox1)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an upcoming western action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games Studio and will be the third game in the Red Dead series. Like its predecessors that were released for the Playstation and Xbox consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Rockstar has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a prequel to Red Dead Redemption.

The player plays as an outlaw named Arthur Morgan who, like John Marston (the protagonist from Red Dead Redemption), is a member of Dutch Van der Linde’s gang.

From the trailer, we can see Arthur and the Van der Linde gang “rob, fight and steal their way” across the wild west in order to survive. Like the previous games from the Red Dead Series, Red Dead Redemption 2 is also set in an open world and played from a third-person point of view. From watching the trailer, here are a few new things that I have noticed that will be in Red Dead Redemption 2 (apart from the obvious – better looking and improved graphics):

Hunting will still play a big role in Red Dead Redemption 2 but unlike Red Dead Redemption, Arthur will be able to hunt with a traditional bow and arrow.
Dual-wield revolvers, which was notably absent from the first game, is a new feature.
It also looks like the characters will be able to wade in water (and possibly, swim), as shown in the scene where Arthur and a couple of the gang members wading through the bayou. In Red Dead Redemption, the player character (John Marston) dies when he gets in water. I had always thought was funny because 1-he’s an outlaw, which should mean that 2-he should have good survival skills, and 3-swimming is a (basic) survival skill but he can’t swim?! Maybe that could be just my logic and personal point of view, or that he never learned how to, but still… LOL
